Golden Hour Portraits

One evening, one riverside path, one very patient sitter — and the kind of honey-coloured light you can't schedule, only chase.

The brief & the approach.

Challenge: ninety minutes of usable light and a sitter who hadn't been photographed since her own wedding, twelve years earlier.

Approach: no reflectors, no posing charts. We walked the east-bank trail while the sun dropped, stopping wherever the light pooled — a fence line, a cottonwood gap, the last warm minutes on the water. Direction stayed verbal and simple; the camera stayed mostly at a distance with a long lens.
